Longwood Farm
Country Estate
Australia’s worst drought on record (1995–2012), along with rising water salinity levels, prompted a major garden redesign for this north-eastern Victorian rural estate.
The garden dominated by water thirsty green lawns was transformed into vast sways of drought tolerant plantings that provided a self-sustaining garden.
The majestic River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) and open landscape of farm land, were both critical elements to integrate into the fabric of this thriving country garden.
