Greg Palmer Design

Greg Palmer has over 30 years experience in the horticultural and landscaping industry. Trained as a landscape designer and horticulturist, this makes him a rare combination in the landscape design world.

Specialising in creating site-specific landscapes, from design, through to plant selection and garden construction, Greg’s passion is for plants and their significant place in our ecology.

Greg works in divergent ecosystems and climatic conditions, in Australian (and UK) cities as well as rural environments ranging from Cradle Mountain in Tasmania through to tropical far north Queensland and the Kimberley coast. Sympathetic to each site’s natural environment, he creates a living entity that evolves and develops over time.

With projects that range from small rooftop gardens in inner city London, sprawling country estates in rural Victoria, through to private client suburban garden reconstructions and large scale Australian holiday resorts, Greg’s genuine love and understanding of horticulture shines through in every consultation or commission.

The hospitality industry enlists Greg to work with chefs and restaurateurs creating workable, sustainable kitchen gardens. He ensures clients’ gardens are an extension of their personality and workspace.

Greg is inspired by landscapes around the world as well as his part-time home in Victoria’s Yarra Valley.  He has been a selective contributor to exhibition gardens, including two times Silver medal winner at the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show 2002 and 2008.
